The Department of Botany at Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi, aims to become a premier, globally recognised centre for plant sciences — nurturing future botanists through research, quality education, and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation in the north-western part of Punjab.

Mission: To train students who can serve their communities through teaching, research, and active participation in the plant sciences.

The department is equipped with a herbarium, a greenhouse, a glasshouse, and a Botany laboratory with advanced equipment, and has built a steady record of trained manpower and completed research projects in the field.
