Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi · est. 1948
The Department of English sees itself as a hub of intellectual and creative growth, built around the power of language, literature, and digital media to change how students think and communicate. It balances traditional literary scholarship with cutting-edge professional writing, aiming to produce sharp communicators and critical thinkers ready for a fast-changing global workforce — while amplifying diverse voices and building inclusive communities through narrative and empathy.
Vision: Graduates who are empathetic leaders and lifelong learners: readers with the analytical depth to make sense of complex global texts, and the strategic literacy to help shape the world they're entering.
Mission: A hub for critical inquiry and artistic expression, exploring the human condition through literature, language, and media — bringing together rigorous textual analysis, creative writing, and digital communication to graduate agile communicators, imaginative thinkers, and engaged citizens who use the written word to lead across industries.
Also Offered: Lateral Entry (Post Associate Degree)
BS English — 5th Semester (Lateral Entry) — direct entry into 5th semester for students who've completed an Associate Degree (Associate Degree (B.A./B.Sc., 4 Semesters) or equivalent), rather than starting BS from 1st semester.
Remaining Duration: 2 Years (Semester 5–8)
