The Department of Applied Psychology has half a century of history. In 1971, founding patron Mian Tariq Munir (late) joined as a single teacher in a single classroom for Intermediate classes; the department later affiliated with the University of the Punjab in both Applied Psychology and Psychology for degree classes. Legendary names have served here since, including Dr. Aaley Ahmed (later Chairperson, Department of Psychology, Peshawar University), Dr. Azhar Ali Rizvi (later HOD, Department of Psychology, Government College Lahore), Sufi Gulzar Ahmed, and Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Cheema (later DPI Colleges, Punjab). The department was recently affiliated for the BS four-year Applied Psychology programme with the University of the Punjab, and its current toppers (1st–7th semester) have recorded CGPAs between 3.35 and 3.80. The newly allotted departmental space is spacious and well-furnished, and admits students once a year.
