I studied in this college for six long years from 1984 (F. Sc.) to 1990 (M. Sc.). After graduating I got selected by PPSC as lecturer in 1994 and joined the department. Since Feb. 1995 I am serving at GGCAM Rwp. Started as Lecturer in geography, Now Professor of Geography and Head of Department of Geography.

As a student, I was lucky enough to be polished and nurtured by my esteemed teachers. It was because of the mentorship and tireless efforts of my teachers that I was lucky enough to be selected as Lecturer in Geography just after six months of the declaration of my Master\'s result. As a teacher, I joined my Alma mater in 2011 as Assistant Professor. Standing behind the rostrum in same class rooms where I used to sit as a student, is a sort of experience that can not be expressed in words. And finally, the opportunity to teach and mentor my own niece, Noor-un-Nisa (student BS Geography, Session 2021 - 2025) in my own department, was a wonderful experience most of the teachers usually do not enjoy. At her farewell she sat beside me on the same spot where I sat at my farewell exactly 30 years ago. In the last, I would like to express gratitude towards my worthy colleagues, whose companionship has made this journey commemorative.

Except sir Sajid Farooqi, sir Afzal, sir Arif Mehmood had considered me the most non serious student. Even sir Afzal and Sir Arif didn\'t let me sit in the class for whole year. Still i got high marks (first position in sendups).
The whole 2 years were the most memorable period of my life, which is associated with Asghar Mall College.

My two years at Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi (2003–2005), during my MSc, were truly unforgettable. My hostel life, participation in competitions and winning positions, and taking part in debate competitions gave me confidence and beautiful memories. I also had the opportunity to do compering in various departmental and college programs. I am especially grateful to my respected teachers, Professor Naveed Sahib, Professor Sajid Farooqi Sahib, Professor Shahid Hameed Sahib, Professor Dr.Arif sahb and Professor Muhammad Afzal Sahib, who encouraged and inspired me throughout my college life. Their guidance and encouragement helped me become the person I am today. One of my fondest memories is our final study tour to Azad Kashmir, which remains a cherished part of my college memories.

Every moment in geography department is a cherished memory.

My time during MSc Geography at Government College Asghar Mall is filled with memories that still bring warmth and joy. It was a carefree yet deeply educative chapter of life.
We were fortunate to learn from respected mentors Sir Afzal, Sir Naveed, Sir Sajid, and Sir Shahid who shaped who we are today.
The most cherished memory is of Sir Rathore, who was specially invited to teach us a chapter on Geographic Thoughts. What makes it even more special is that he also taught my grandfather, a distinguished geographer from the British Army, as well as my mother and uncle. Sir Rathore thus taught three generations of our family, a source of immense pride.
May ALLAH bless all our teachers with the bounties He loves the most. Ameen.

I am deeply grateful to my teachers—Sir Afzal, Sir Sajjad Farooqi, Sir Naveed, and Sir Shahid—for their guidance, support, and encouragement throughout my academy journey. Each of them has played an important role in my life, and I will always remember their kindness and invaluable contribution to my growth.

This institution gave me the confidence that continues to guide me in my practical and professional life. Every moment I spent in the college was memorable.
I really appreciate all my teachers , friendly conversations and their help specially Sir Nadeem ,he is such a great teacher , kind, and always available for students, I also grateful to Sir Atif who encouraged me alot.
I also thanks to Sir Sajid ,who had a very commanding presence and maintained excellent control over the students.

Every moment I spent in the college was memorable

My favourite memory is the Demographic Survey in Khirik Village Rawalakot, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Shahid Hameed Janjua and Prof Nadeem Fayyaz. It was an energetic and memorable experience that gave me practical knowledge beyond the classroom.
Prof Nadeem Fayyaz is my greatest inspiration because of his cooperative nature, competency and consistent encouragement. His guidance has motivated me to learn and improve everyday.
Special thanks to Sir Sajid Mahmood Farooqi whose guidance and support enhanced my skills in GIS Engineering and gave me the confidence to step into the practical field and gaining valuable professional exposure.
Overall, my college journey has been memorable, enriching and full of learning. It has helped me grow in knowledge, confidence and experience.

All the i spend in College is very good for me

One of my best memory part. I teach my class fellows about gis and remote sensing. After our beloved sir sadaf javed was on long leave. I was the class CR and everyone in my class, juniors and teachers respect me the most. Because of my computer knowledge and i got the title of \'\'Tech Guru\'\' from my junior name Syed Zain ul Hassan Shah.

Great experience here in this esteemed college. All the teachers were great having affectionate behavior with their students. I am thankful to Allah that I joined this college where I got a chance to learn by great professors specially Prof Najam Ul Hassan- a man who burned the fire of love for knowledge in me. Atif Bukhari Sir is my life changer teacher

I had the privilege of studying at my beloved college from 2021 to 2025. Those four years shaped me into who I am today. They taught me how to think, live, carry myself with confidence and grace, and accept constructive criticism with an open mind.Sitting on the lawns of the English Department with our respected teachers and friends, having thoughtful discussions, debates, and arguments, is one of my most cherished memories.
Hostel life was equally unforgettable. We lived to the fullest — long sleepless nights, laughter, friendships, and even sneaking out over the gates for parathas. Those moments added a unique charm to our days. The New Hostel, especially Nishtar Block and my room Nishtar 4, holds a very special place in my heart. It was a world of friendship, conversations, and laughter. Living near friends like Noshervan Gujjar, Zia Ur Bhatti Nebosh, Sulman Habib, and many others made it even more special. Our cricket team, Sarhadi XI, also gave us countless memories of competition and camaraderie. Even today, messages from hostel friends keep those days alive. I am deeply grateful to our teachers — Sir Naveed Abbas Bukhari Sahib, Head of English Department, Madam Tayyeba Bukhari, Coordinator, and Syed Najm ul Hassan Sahib. Their guidance shaped our intellectual and personal growth. This college gave us more than a degree. It gave us friendships, experiences, confidence, unforgettable memories, and a sense of belonging that will always be part of who we are.

Some of the most beautiful days of my life were spent in college.

During break time, we used to laugh, talk, and enjoy every little moment together. We’d sit and listen to our teachers share their life experiences — lessons that were not just in books, but in words of wisdom.

For every event, we’d decorate, prepare, and work as a team. That’s where we learned how beautiful it is to create memories together.

College wasn’t just a place of studies. It was where we met different kinds of people, made friends for life, and grew into who we are today. We learned from our teachers, from our friends, and even from our mistakes.

That time holds a very special place in my heart.

My stay in this department has been a truly wonderful experience. Studying here was a dream of mine as my real uncle Nadeem Fayyaz was a student of this department for 4 years and currently he is serving as Associate Professor in this department. Being able to learn and grow in this department has made that dream a reality. The constant support, guidance and encouragement of my teachers have played a very important role in my journey. They not only helped me academically but also inspired me to become more hardworking, focused and determined. I am deeply grateful for all the knowledge, opportunities, friendship and beautiful memories I have gained here. I feel proud and fortunate to be a part of this department and I will always cherish these years.

Hi everyone, Asghar Mall college is not just a place of study but it is a sacred site where a person becomes human and dreams are turned into reality. Asghar Mall college shapes a person\'s character like no other place can. This college and its faculty has left a lasting impact on my personality. I still remember the first day I stood in front of my class and gave a presentation about the history of England. I was unable to feel my legs under me due to the nervousness I felt that day. But the faculty of the Department especially, Sir Irfan Yawer, Sir Naveed Bukhari, Ma\'am Tayabba Bukhari and Sir Najam ul Hassan promoted me as a speaker and as a performer. And today I can proudly say that I can now perform in front of thousands without feeling any hesitation. I thank this college and its faculty for leaving a positive impact on my character. Lastly, I would like to say that even with all this success everything was not like sunshine. But I would give my time there a solid 9/10. If anyone reads this thank you for taking out the time to do so.
