Government Graduate College Asghar Mall, Rawalpindi · est. 1948
The Department of Zoology gives students a firm grounding in the animal sciences, pairing classroom teaching with steady laboratory and field work so that living systems are understood in practice, not only on paper. The programme builds from the essentials — cells and animal diversity — through physiology, genetics, ecology and molecular biology, and on into applied areas such as fisheries, wildlife and biotechnology.
Vision: A recognised centre for quality teaching and research in zoology: producing capable graduates who combine sound scientific knowledge with practical skill and a clear sense of ethical responsibility, ready to work on real problems in animal science, public health and environmental conservation.
Mission: Provide sound undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the zoological sciences; build a culture of research, inquiry and scientific curiosity; develop practical and analytical skill through laboratory and field-based work; promote the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and natural resources; and prepare graduates for education, research, public health, wildlife conservation, environmental management, and biotechnology.
