About the Department
The Department of Political Science gives students a strong grounding in political theory, comparative politics, and foreign policy analysis, offering a BS in International Relations. IR is a contemporary field — global events shape everyday life everywhere — and the department is committed to building the academic depth students need to understand and engage with it.
Why Study with Us
Research strengths in the department include South Asian security, foreign policy, area studies, international political economy, world history, sectarianism, ethnic conflict, and regional power politics. As a newly established department (its first academic session has just concluded, with affiliation recently granted by the University of the Punjab), it currently maintains a small but growing library of IR and Political Science holdings, with its record of achievements and co-curricular activities still being built.
Vision
Students who can understand and engage seriously with a fast-moving world of foreign policy and global affairs.
Mission
Develop students not only academically but in the practical application of that knowledge, including preparing them to compete successfully in competitive examinations and secure positions in government service.
